Comprehensive Examination and Cleaning

After studying your dental health history, our dentist will most likely examine your gums, teeth, and mouth. This procedure is known as a comprehensive exam and is performed to evaluate the state of one’s dental health and hygiene. An important part of the comprehensive exam is the cleaning.

Our dentist will generally look for any sensitivity, decay and redness around the gums and teeth during the examination. Even though our dentist will have already studied your medical and dental h, story from the forms you completed, we will still ask you questions about your teeth while examining them. This is fairly common in the case our dentist sees anything unusual or something which was not mentioned in the forms.

X-Ray Procedure

After conducting the comprehensive exam, our dentist takes an X-ray of your mouth to gain a clear picture of the status of your teeth and jaw. These scans are taken to better analyze oral disruptions, diseases and cavities.

The panoramic radiographs are the most common types of dental X-rays as they provide a more detailed view of the teeth and jaw. From such resolution, our dentist is able to spot any impacted teeth or jaw fractures with ease.

Although believed to be a lengthy process, X-rays usually don’t take more than a few minutes and are completely safe. Our dentist will guide you through the simple procedure by asking you to bite down on gauze while the rest of the body is protected with a covering. Only the mouth will be scanned by the machine.

Post-Examination Consultation

After the dental checkup, our dentist will discuss your results with you and guide you through any of the irregularities or decay that were found. Our dentist will suggest and explain to you the most appropriate and detailed treatment plan for your specific needs and customize it to fit your requirements.  Our main goal is to help you maintain good oral health and solve all of your dental issues.

After discussing your future treatment, you will also receive the total costs for any particular procedure. Our office offers payment plans, and our staff can guide you in selecting which options best suit your needs. At this time, you may discuss with your dentist the suggested treatments and the expenses.

Follow-Up Sessions

Now that you have met our dentist and discussed your treatment options, you will be scheduled for a follow-up session at your convenience. These follow-up sessions would mostly be for cleaning and preparing your tooth for any upcoming procedures.

It is highly recommended that individuals attend these follow-up visits at least twice a year to avoid any cavities, tooth decay or oral illness from producing inside the mouth.  During these routine check-ups, the teeth are regularly cleaned and treated to make sure that they stay in good shape.
